GIVING WAY FOR THE EXPRESSWAY

We do not often see it, but our lives are layered between webs of networks.

All around and beneath us in the urban setting is an intricate network of electricity power lines , communication lines to stay connected, sewer lines and water lines for sanitation, among other essential service lines. The slightest of disruption on any of the networks is capable of causing unimaginable disruption to the day to day lives of the people around.

For a project like the Nairobi Expressway whose alignment runs through the heart of Nairobi, the implementation of the project involves a rigorous phase of the relocation of services. A section of the road project intersects high voltage electricity cables which must be safely and effectively relocated to give way to the smooth and timely completion of works for the Nairobi Expressway.

Energy Cabinet Secretary Hon. Charles Keter accompanied by Energy Principal Secretary Dr. Eng. Joseph Njoroge and Kenya Power MD Mr. Bernard Ngugi and Kenya Power GM Eng. Aggrey Machasio, carried out inspection tour from Nyayo Stadium Roundabout to Imara - Daima to assess relocation works of high voltage electricity cables along the path of the Expressway. The support by the energy sector will go a long way in securing a timely delivery of works for the project.
